Description of Bendistal Pliers

Bendistal Pliers were invented By Dr. Suhail A. Khouri to end the 3-decades of impossibility to bend and activate the brittle and non-malleable super elastic archwires with traditional pliers. These specifically designed pliers are made of two-pairs set; one pair was designed to place intrusive V-Bends intraorally on tied NiTi wires in the Upper Right and Lower Left mouth quadrants, recognized by letters (UR-LL) engraved on one pliers, and the other pair of pliers  serves the Upper Left, and Lower Right, quadrants recognized by letters (UL-LR) engraved on it.

they enable clinicians for the first time, to cinch back, place permanent v-bends to activate those archwires without annealing or breakage. These bends activate super elastic archwires to launch their lightest and most consistent forces in all vertical and transverse directions on teeth, after restricting their clinical use to teeth alignments only. These bends opened a broad horizons of clinical applications that simplified correction of the most sever malocclusions including; severe deep bites, crossbites, and class III malocclusions. Dr. Suhail A. Khouri DDS ( the inventor of these pliers), from Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA, became the first to insert sharp and lasting intraoral V-Bends in super elastic wires to achieve anterior teeth segments intrusion; after activating those wires in the vertical planes. He implied this V-Bend technique in his own practice over 25 years, and introduced simpler and more effective alternatives to many old ones, still used in treating most challenging orthodontic malocclusions. This V-Bend technique recruited the best force quality of NiTi wires, and used it with the same known intrusive mechanics (instead of stainless steel wires intermittent forces). It turns regular NiTi archwires into simple instant appliances that replaced the old time-consuming less effective ones.
